Sad News

It has been a wonderful holiday season but right before Christmas we received the sad news that my Great Grandma Jolly passed away at the age of 102. I felt very lucky to have gotten to see her at Thanksgiving and that Hayden had a chance to meet her. As my relatives know she sure loves the little ones. She left a large posterity behind and we will miss her greatly. Her posterity includes 11 children, 62 grandchildren, 225 great-grandchildren, and 175 great-great grandchildren.
It is peaceful to know that families can be together forever and that she had a great Christmas reunion with those that had gone before her.

Here is a link to a cute article about her life.

I also went down to the funeral and enjoyed hearing the great stories about her. I have so many great ladies to look up to in my life.

He is Listening.

Sometimes I feel like Hayden really isn't listening to me or he doesn't understand what I'm asking him to do or not do. Well on Tuesday we were finishing up on all our Christmas decorations and I had put out Hayden's nativity scene which is the FisherPrice version he can play with. His favorite part of this nativity set so far is the donkey with the cart.
Well it was time to put Hayden to bed and I was walking down the hall and saw the little cart laying there. I turned to Hayden and said "Hayden will you go put this back by your Baby Jesus please". He took the cart and went toward the living room. I went to his room thinking I would find the cart in the middle of the living room floor. He came to his room and we read books and said prayers and he went to bed.
Tyler and I went back out to the living room to finish up with the decorating and this is what I found. Look closely. . .

He had put the cart back by Baby Jesus. Not the Baby Jesus I was thinking of (the FisherPrice version) but he did put it by Baby Jesus.

I just started laughing. It was a great reminder that he is listening and understanding the things I say to him. I guess he just has selective hearing. ;) He makes me smile and laugh and keeps me on my toes.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We headed down to Sin City aka Las Vegas for a family reunion/thanksgiving extravaganza. :) We had so many family members there we had to have dinner at the church cultural hall. The food was great and the company even better. My Great Grandma Jolley was there. She is now 101 so it was cool to get a 5 generation picture with her.

We did the crazy black Friday shopping (only my brother and sister in law got up at 3:00 to go) the rest of us braved the crowds later in the day. We also did some humanitarian projects. This weekend we also celebrated my parents 30th Wedding Anniversary. I made them a slide show of pictures through the past 30 years (that ended up being an hour long) and we ordered take out from PF Chang's (since three toddlers didn't sound that fun to wrestle in the actual restaurant), and had a nice dinner with them to celebrate. My dad had rented out a 4 bedroom house that was way nice so we had nice table/dinning room to eat at. It was really nice to be with them. They are awesome parents. LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Here's to another 30 years.

My Little Tree Hugger

Hayden and I were getting the mail and just playing outside when he decided that he wanted to climb up this cute little tree. As he was playing on the tree I could see so many cute photos. Luckily Margaret (one of our neighbors) came outside and said let me watch him while you go grab your camera. So I ran upstairs and grabbed my camera. I'm so glad I did because I got some cute shots of him. He is such a little boy. (Broken bones to come from all the future tree climbing I'm sure.)

October in Reveiw

Well it has been a fun month and I can't believe we are already 9 days into November! Crazy! Since I haven't been that great about posting I thought I would do a reveiw of some fun things we did in October. We painted pumpkins.
We went to some Ute Games.
We decorated cookies and Haunted Shacks.
We went to BOO at the ZOO as Scooby DOO. (say that three times fast) I had forgotten about this handme down costume until after Yoda was ordered or he probably would have just been Scooby but he got to wear both so it was fun.

We dressed up as a family for Halloween and did the Trunk or Treat. Hayden and I stayed in the car and handed out the candy because he had ear infections and bronchitis. He was still happy and cute as ever as our little Yoda.
I hope all of you had a great October and that your November is going well. I can't believe it is alreayd time to start thinking about getting your Christmas shopping done. I love this time of Holidays, family get togethers and parties. Heres to a great Holiday Season.

If at first you don't succeed. . .

Well we decided that it was time to try and get a new family picture taken. Ty bought me a really nice camera for my birthday this year and so I was thinking that we would just try and have one of our friends take some pictures of us. Of course most things went wrong. . . my hair wouldn't do anything but limp and straight. I got up early to curl it and as you can see from the pictures I had zero cooperation. My hair wasn't the only thing that didn't want to cooperate, Hayden didn't really want to either. I think we were able to grab a couple cute pictures here and there. We also learned some things about photography (mainly we have alot to learn about photography, especially lighting).

TIME FLIES

Well I was just thinking that I can't believe that it is already October. I have no idea where the time went but it sure did go. I was just remembering how little Hayden was last year during Halloween and how cute he was in his little costume. So I had to make a little slide show of some of the October memories from last year. We aren't sure what Hayden is going to be this year for Halloween. So far Yoda has been suggested. What do you think? Do you have any cute ideas for a costume? Let me know.

Look A LIke

I saw this on Monette's site and I thought it would be interesting to try. I guess people are right he looks more like Ty but not by much. :) It probably depends on the pictures you enter but anyway, kind of interesting.

GO UTES!!!

It has been a fun crazy month and when I get a little longer second I will post more about that but right now I just had to say GO UTES!!! We have season tickets so we were at the UCLA v. UofU football game. It was such a fun game to watch because the Utes played awesome. So we beat UCLA #11 in the country 44 to 6!!! They didn't even make a touchdown! Anyway, I hope the Utes keep up this kind of team work because it is much funner to watch.

Temple Square

Last Sunday we decided to go wonder around Temple Square. We walked on top of the Conference Center and along Main Street. Hayden loved running around checking everything out, pointing to Angel Moroni and even stopped to smell the flowers.

OUCH!!!

Hayden's Saturday didn't end so well though. After the fun day at the lake we headed to a wedding. Well he was having a fun old time going over this cute bridge at the reception. UNTIL . . . , yep he biffed it. Here are some before and afters.

Hayden likes water sports.

We went wave running last Saturday and Hayden loved it. He didn't really get to ride on the wave runners but he sat on one while the waves moved it around and the whole time he was going VROOM VROOM VROOM (as you can see in the pictures with his lips in the vroom position). It was cute to see him stretch as far as he could to hold both the handles. He could have sat on those things for hours. He also had fun diggin in the rock and dirt and standing in the water. He is such a fun little guy. Enjoy the slide show of fun.

A week of first for Hayden

It has been a week of first for Hayden. We took a vacation down to southern California to visit my brother and his family. Since it is a long drive with a 17 month old we decided to fly. So it was Hayden's first time getting on and flying on a plane. He did really well. He seemed to enjoy take off and landing the best(this might be due to the fact he could see the trees, buildings and cars we were zooming past).

The other first that Hayden experienced was the Beach. We went to Newport beach and played all day. It was extremely fun. Hayden loved to stand in the water and let it splash him. He didn't like it when it would get in his face or too high up on his legs. He loved digging in the sand with Elle and Ty and just playing. We also had a fun time in Cali with Justin and Jill and their kids. Plus Hayden got to see his Nana and have fun with her. It was a very fun family vacation. :)

Sister Lloyd is Home!

Annie has completed her mission and arrived home last night. She served in the Moscow South Mission and loved every last minute of it. Rob and Gloria (my mother and father-in-law) went to pick her up in Russia and then they toured Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague and Paris. They said they had a wonderful time and they are tired and glad to be home. It was great to see Annie last night and for Hayden to finally get to meet his Aunt Annie. He ran around and showed off his tricks for her. WELCOME HOME ANNIE!!!

Band Wagon Bloggers

Well I guess we are jumping on the bandwagon. We have quite a few friends that have started bloggs and they seem like a really cute way to keep in touch and keep people updated about the craziness of every day life. So we will try to keep it updated and somewhat exciting. If you have a blogg let us know so that we can check it out.
